Globe Valves

There are two types of globe valves, the manually operated globe valve which are called “screw down stop” and the Control Valve. The manually operated globe valve type is usually used so that the process flow is under the plug. The globe plug (or trim) can be at any position between fully opened and fully closed to regulate the flow. The construction of the globe and seat gives the valve good flow control characteristics. 

Pneumatically actuated globe valves are widely used valves in many industries for controlling purposes and usually referred to as Control Valves. Typically, globe control valves are operated by diaphragm type pneumatic actuator. Air pressure opens the valve and the spring, closes the valve when air pressure is reduced. Globe control valve may therefore be used for most duties encountered in fluid-handling systems. This wide range of functions has led to the development of numerous variations of globe and globe control valves. 

A Globe Control Valve consists of a body with trim, bonnet and pneumatic actuator and positioner, optionally with metal bellows or insulating extension. The valves may be also fitted with electric, electro-hydraulic, or hand-operated actuators, as well as control accessories and other instrumentation.
